Privacy Policy
The security and privacy of your data matters to us.
Introduction
SnapCal ("App") is a mobile application that helps you track your nutritional habits and reach your healthy living goals. The data controller is Kerem Çebi (hereinafter referred to as "we" or "us"). This privacy policy explains how your data is collected, used, and protected when you use our app.
Data Collection
Your full weight and meal history remains stored locally on your device. For product analysis, we send your exact weight in kilograms, measurement date, and weight-entry changes or deletions to PostHog. We also send newly added or edited meal entries, including the food name, grams, calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, diary date, and deletion markers. These events use a persistent pseudonymous device identifier, not an account identity. Existing users send only their newest local weight as an initial analytics baseline; older weight entries and pre-existing meal entries are not uploaded. We use this information to understand pseudonymous nutrition and weight-tracking patterns and to improve SnapCal, not for advertising.
Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards. Weight and meal analytics is processed in PostHog's European Union infrastructure with IP anonymization and without creating person profiles. Product events, including exact nutrition events and deletion tombstones, are retained for up to 12 months and then expire.
Third-Party Sharing
Your personal data is never shared with advertisers or third-party companies for their commercial purposes. PostHog processes the exact weight and meal analytics described above in the EU on our behalf for product analysis. Exact food and nutrition properties are not sent to our advertising or attribution providers. Other technical providers process only the data needed to deliver their services. Providers are contractually required to protect the data they process.
AI & Photo Analysis
When you use the AI meal scanning feature, photos are temporarily processed by our AI service (Google Gemini) to identify food items and estimate nutritional values. Photos are deleted from our servers immediately after analysis. We do not store, sell, or use your meal photos for any other purpose.
Your Rights
You may request access to or deletion of your personal data at any time. SnapCal does not require an account. Deleting a weight or meal entry in the app removes the local entry and sends an append-only deletion tombstone for analytics reporting; the related raw analytics events expire within the 12-month retention period.
